Modern Times is a timeless (ha get it?) classic from the one and only Charlie Chaplin, a revolutionary filmmaker whose brilliant physical comedy and masterful screen presence transformed film history. Modern Times follows Chaplin’s recurring character, The Tramp, who stumbles his way through a bustling capitalistic world. Throughout the film, Chaplin’s signature physical gags bring a smile to audience members’ faces, while he also provides poignant commentary on the state of industry and workers’ unions. At Metamer, one of our favorite types of projects to collaborate on is animation! From concept design to rigging to keyframes, we love bringing 2D characters to life! Recently we collaborated with Peace of Mind on their Marleigh is Mindful video series, which helps bring awareness to mental health and meditative breathing through the lens of child characters. It was a joy helping to make this project a reality and spreading awareness on a subject we care about deeply.
